The end and the beginning

Forgive me for not posting since a few weeks due to holiday reasons, to make it up, here’s a FREE naked pic of me.

Now, I think DJ Mehdi should do the same since he didn’t post anything for ages.

Les Tuileries

The Tuileries fun fair runs until 28th August and is the coolest place to spend an afternoon or an after-restaurant in Paris… There’s almost no one so it’s like you rented the place for your wedding, after the fair, go for a tour in the garden, there’s a special atmosphere there…

Where’s the Fafster at ?

My everyday and neverending search of places to work on my comic in Paris is bringing me to spots I am sure some would find completely insipid, but – I was born that way- that I find particularly interesting… Call it the Café de Flore syndrom or whatever, but you’ll see it’s not exactly what I am looking for.

Since I gave up going to public libraries, more crowded than the Salvation Army soup at Christmas Eve, I felt back on Cafés, Brasseries and other Tea spots. I could work at home, but it would be without counting on my ability to flit from my laptop to my fridge, from my magazines to my feet nails… Anyway… During that quest, I divided the places I’ve already been in two groups for the atmosphere they provide.

  • First group includes Cafés and Brasseries : when I’m craving for some dirty toilets, white aproned busy waiters, when I want to hear coffee cups ting, when I want to listen to stupid conversations between a salesman and his client, when I want to watch the street scenery and how the young Parisian chicks are dressed, I go to “Le père tranquille” 1°, “Le square Trousseau” 12°.
  • Second group includes Tea spots, I could have also put the Organic restaurants in this section, but they actually need their own chapter. Well, when I want to mingle with the “intermittents du spectacle” (roadies, actors, comedians, puppetters, talented portfolios photographers), when I want to hear the waitress explaining in less than ten minutes the difference between Lapsang souchong and Rooibos, when I want to listen to clients dismiss their order of Spice bread because in fact it’s not 100% vegan, when I want to watch stingy women asking for more than twelve free tea samples during one hour and a half, I go there : “L’Autre thé” 11°, “Le bar à thé” 12°.

I try to find new places eveyday, more to come soon, I promise.
